Local artist Sue Dickins has always had a passion for figurative art and oil painting. After a long hiatus and a career as a police officer, she returned to her love of art and has been creating beautiful pieces ever since. Last August, Sue opened her first solo exhibition, This Woman’s Work, at the West Studios. She studied art in St. Helena many years ago, right next to her studio building, so she felt it appropriate to have an exhibition here, where it all began. As she was preparing for her first exhibition, she discovered she had a passion for painting fabric and she loved figurative work, so she combined the two. She came up with the idea for a follow-up exhibition, Women United.
The art exhibition will continue from 17th-28th April Mon-Fri 10am-4pm. where Sue will be present to welcome and chat to guests.
