Digital Artist Mark Humes Biography

Mark Humes, a prolific digital abstract artist, was born in Wenatchee, Washington in 1974. He served in United States Army second infantry division and 101st Airborne Division until becoming disabled in 1995.

After his career in the military, Mark Humes became the owner of the former WPAL- Paladin internet radio and on-air personality Dj Guilewolf, a worldwide Internet radio station when his Spirit of entrepreneurship and love of art led him to launch Mark Humes gallery on the Internet. Mark explored a lot of ideas and concepts about how the art world currently worked and saw a huge gap in the industry, and felt as an artist his artwork should be made available to everyone and not just consigned to Galleries, Museums, and Auctions for the Elite to own.

Mark Humes is the Author of Mindscapes, Mindscapes: volume 2, The Book of Lost Verses series, Creating the Lost Verses: An Adult Coloring Book and Codex Venerorum Abstracta. His goals with Mindscapes and The Book of Lost Verses are to share his artwork with the world in one of the oldest of artist traditions, Making art books. In this process, He hopes to inspire other disabled veterans like himself that they too can turn their pain into strength.

Mark Humes lives and works now in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Digital Artist Mark Humes Artist Statement

“Through the medium of digital art, I share the deepest parts of my subconscious mind by giving shape, form and color to my emotions.
I accomplish this by creating a total work of chaos, once that is complete, I manipulate the image till an evolution takes place and brings the picture into a form where can see my spirit.
I create my artwork because it’s the closest thing to telepathy I have discovered. My art is a journal of my raw thoughts and feeling frozen in time for all to see leaving a legacy of my experiences and feeling as a testament of my existence.”
