Light Bear Gallery is inviting submissions for PEOPLE, a virtual 3D group exhibition examining the human figure and human experience. The open call welcomes artists worldwide, with a submission deadline of 15 November 2026. The resulting exhibition is scheduled to run online from 1 to 31 January 2027.
The theme encompasses identity, relationships, memory, everyday life, belonging and isolation. Artists may respond through portraits or figurative work, but the brief also allows abstraction, symbolism and experimental approaches. Painting, drawing, collage, digital art, photography and sculpture are among the accepted media. Applicants can be at any stage of their artistic practice.
The gallery’s team and curator will assess creativity, originality, artistic quality and relevance to the theme. The curator identified in the submission is Helge Guse, whose public biography places his Light Bear Gallery work in Dresden, Germany. Selected images will be presented digitally in the gallery’s virtual exhibition space; artists do not need to send physical artworks.
Applications are free. A processing fee of €30 per artist applies only after selection. The organisers state that artists keep copyright and ownership of their work and images. Sales enquiries will be forwarded to the artist, with no gallery sales commission. Five prizes are announced as certificates and inclusion in the exhibition’s video guide, rather than cash awards.
To apply, email up to three high-quality JPEG artwork images to lightbeargallery@gmail.com, using PEOPLE as the subject. Name each file after its artwork and include the title, dimensions, medium and price. Add a biography of no more than 100 words and any relevant website or social links. Applications must be in English; one or two works may be selected.
Read the official open-call conditions before submitting. The gallery excludes political, pornographic and hate-related works and asks selected artists to confirm authorship and respect for third-party rights.
