The ITSLIQUID Group has opened the fifth edition of Barcelona Contemporary, an international exhibition of photography, painting, video, installation, sculpture, and performance art. The exhibition is on view from July 18 through July 28, 2025, at HUB/ART Barcelona on Carrer del Dr. Trueta, with an opening reception held on July 18 at 6 p.m.

More than 30 artists from 20 countries are participating, each presenting work that addresses themes of identity, transformation, and cultural intersection. The exhibition is organized into two sections. Mixing Identities investigates the hidden dimensions of selfhood through immersive environments that evoke the labyrinths of consciousness. Future Landscapes shifts focus toward abstraction, freedom, and the redefinition of boundaries between body, city, and environment.

The selection reveals a diversity of styles. Dang Duong Bang draws on Vietnamese painting traditions while incorporating decades of European influence, creating works that move between origin and reinvention. Xavi Figueras explores the human figure in dialogue with water and light, dissolving distinctions between body and space. Sonia J offers abstract surfaces charged with raw energy, tracing a path from constraint to freedom and presenting imperfection as a process of transformation.

Other highlights include MatMax, who layers photography, oil, charcoal, and spray paint to shift urban scenes into contemplations of memory, and Crystal D. Evans, who fuses image, sound, and text to create works that resist simplification and embrace fragmentation as part of human experience.

Together, these artists turn Barcelona Contemporary 2025 into a meeting ground of perspectives. The exhibition does not present fixed answers but encourages reflection on how we live in the world physically, emotionally, and culturally. It is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at HUB/ART Barcelona.
